Who is responsible for your data

This website is operated by Ankit Kumar, an independent software developer based at H-103, Sector-63, Noida, Uttar Pradesh 201301, India. Questions about this policy can be sent to hi@iamankit.me.

Information collected

• Contact details you provide voluntarily — name, email address, phone number and company name — when you message, email or book a call.
• Project information you share while scoping or delivering work, including documents, credentials and access you choose to grant.
• Billing information such as invoice address and GSTIN where applicable. Card numbers, UPI IDs and bank details are never seen or stored by this website; they are handled entirely by the payment gateway.
• Usage data collected by analytics — pages visited, approximate location, browser and device type, and referring site.

How the information is used

• To respond to enquiries and prepare proposals and estimates.
• To deliver, support and invoice the services you have engaged me for.
• To process payments through the payment gateway and to issue receipts.
• To meet accounting, tax and other legal obligations in India.
• To understand which parts of the site are useful and improve them.

Your data is never sold, rented or traded, and it is not used for advertising by third parties.

Payments

Online payments are processed by PCI-DSS compliant payment gateways. When you pay, you are redirected to or served a checkout controlled by the gateway, and your card, UPI or netbanking credentials are submitted directly to them. Only the transaction reference, amount, status and the contact details you entered are returned to me. Please refer to the privacy policy of the payment gateway for how they handle that data.

Cookies and analytics

The site uses Google Analytics to measure traffic. It sets cookies that record a pseudonymous identifier, the pages you view and how you arrived. A theme preference is also stored locally in your browser so the site remembers light or dark mode. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will continue to work without them.

Who your data is shared with

Data is shared only where it is needed to run the service, and only to the extent needed:

• Payment gateways, to process and reconcile transactions.
• Hosting, email and analytics providers that operate this website.
• An accountant or tax authority, where the law requires it.
• Subcontractors working on your project, and only after you are informed.

How long data is kept

Enquiries that do not turn into projects are deleted within 12 months. Project files and correspondence are kept for the duration of the engagement and for a reasonable period after, so support requests can be honoured. Invoices and payment records are retained for eight years as required by Indian tax law.

Security

Data is held on services protected by encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls and two-factor authentication. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed, but any breach affecting your data will be reported to you promptly.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the personal data held about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be deleted where there is no legal reason to keep it, or withdraw consent for marketing at any time. Write to hi@iamankit.me and the request will be actioned within 30 days.

Children

These services are not directed at children under 18, and personal data is not knowingly collected from them.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as the services or the law change. The revised version is published on this page with a new "last updated" date, and material changes are communicated to active clients by email.
